Okay, this is pretty specific so I don't know if anyone here can help me...

I am going to spend a night in Tucson at a hotel (I'm in Sierra Vista). The main goal is to get a full nights sleep (I haven't for two years). Of course, I want to go out to eat, maybe get my hair cut--have general relaxing day. We have points we can use at either Comfort Inn Suite location. I am wondering if anyone has stayed at either of these locations or have had relatives that have. Which one is nicer? More importantly, was your stay quiet? The last thing I want is to have a loud racket while trying to get some well needed sleep!

Any insight on either location would be helpful. I'm not too concern on the actual locations, though, unless one is not in a "safe" area, which doesn't appear to apply to either one of these.

Well, I'm not familiar with the interior (or even exterior) of either one (plenty of reviews online), but since it's a chain they can't be that different.

As far as location, Sabino Canyon hands down- particularly for relaxation.

Thanks for the suggestion--relaxation is just what I am looking for!. I have read the reviews, but they seem pretty even.

Unfortunately, hotels within the same chain name vary greatly. My husband's last job required him to travel 75% of the time and he tried to always stay at one of the hotels in Comfort Inn family to gather points. Then we stayed in them while moving 2000 miles. Some were hideous and somewere fabulous. Although the actual Comfort Inns seem to be even keel. The Comfort Inn in Roswell, NM was truly wonderful--down comforters, feather pillows, nice furnishings, flat screen tv.

Well, if they are to be different my guess is the one at Sabino Canyon would be better, too.

Unfortunately, crazyme . . . having traveled extensively over the years, I have learned the actual facility is important but the physical location of the room within the facility plus the type of guests in adjoining rooms (both tough to predict and/or control) is more important.

My recommendation . . . when you make your reservation and also when you check-in, request a room in an "isolated" area of the hotel away from maid stations, public facilities like ice machines and game rooms as well as away from rooms with kids.

Good Luck!

Bummer-thanks for the advice. I was thinking about asking them anyhow, but wasn't sure, as we will probably make the reservation on-line (I think it is easier to use the points that way). But now I will definitely. I'm also thinking of buying a "sleep aid," keeping out one dose and throwing away the rest--that is how determined I am to get a good sleep!

I agree. The Snobino area would be one I'd consider before the other.

Good idea, crazyme.

Go ahead and make your reservation online and then call the Reservations Manager a few hours later to submit your special request.

Thought I would report back, in case someone in the future searches this topic and is interested.

I was going to go with the Sabino Canyon location, so my husband stopped by one week before golfing. They showed him a room and he said it smelled a little off, like the mustyness from running the air conditioning too long. I am really sensitive to smells, so it automatically cancelled it out for me. So after postponing it twice and rescheduling it once, I finally went to the Tucson Mall location. It was wonderful! I had a second floor, king bed room, facing the hotel's parking lot. It was a Tuesday, so no matter what it was going to be quiet, I guess. The bed was a pillowtop, the comforter was real, and there were plenty of pillows, all soft and fluffy. There was also a microwave, fridge, and safe in the room. I forgot my swimsuit, so I can't attest to that area too much, but it looked clean. I also didn't use the workout room, but I peeked in and it also looked clean, with four or five machines (a treadmill and ellipitical machine for sure, I forgot the other two).

Breakfast had the usual, but also had scrambled eggs and sausage patties (the day before it was biscuits and gravy). They also have the waffle machine, which seems standard these days. Their coffee was very good, too.

I am happy to say that I went to bed around 10 and didn't wake up until 8a.m.! Yippee! So I guess it met my quiet requirement. However, I could hear the doors opening and closing around my room (and above, maybe?), banging throughout the evening.

Thank you for everyone's help and I hope this helps someone in the future!
