That isn't unique to Arizona, by far. It's the Neue Inglish, and it's all over the US - particularly in the under-30 generation. Language never was and never will be static and unchanging. I find it quite fascinating, and there are many books on the matter. Bill Bryon's "History of English" is a great read.

Let me guess - you don't use thee, thou, and doth in your everyday speech, do you? Yay, methinks!
