Dont remember McClellands in Amphi Plaza having a pharmacy, but they did sell pets, including monkeys! There was also a little watch maker in the SW corner of the store. Boon Docks is still alive and well! Lil Abners is still open and $$$ and a baked potato is extra! It will likely close soon, lot is for sale. LuckyWishbone still ROCKS!! Cactus Moon...anybody remember Cowboys on 22nd? Or the Embers?

How long ago are we talking for the Cowboys on 22nd? Anyone remember the Plaza Pub on Congress Steet? It was a nice place to go if you were downtown. I used to occasionally study in the main library down there.

I looked at the menu for Lil' Abners and those are high prices, especially for Tucson standards.

Cactus Moon started off as Rialtos in late 1988, more of a mainstream pop/dance/rock/disco club. The Moon's racetrack dance floor was touted as the biggest until The Wild Wild West on Ina had a larger one.

My wife enjoyed the Plaza Pub for lunch when she worked on Stone at Congress. On the other side in a mercado east of the Holiday Inn was El Pueblo, decent Sonoran fare.

Dancer64: azmemories is right - I tripped over happyjack70's post about the Boondocks on pg 45 of this thread, posted back in May of 2015.

Hope I'm getting your name right - I'm not going back to check

Goodmans grocery store is usually a name which comes up when discussing Tucson.

My understanding is that there were other names for grocery stores and supermarkets back then, such as Consumers, and Lucky's.

I'd like to find out what happened to the Sound Factory recording studio, and Steve English.

Just wanted to say I remember Sprouse-Reitz. There was one at Broadway/Wilmot, northeast corner. Also wanted to add that the Boondocks closed just last week.

Yes, used to go their with my parents while growing up. Think it's a used furniture store now. Last time I went there was about 1970-71 for New Years Eve dinner with friends. It was a great place!
