I've been keeping my fingers crossed ever since this place started being painted in blue as I knew My Big Fat Greek Restaurant was considering opening an Eastside location, but they were talking it was gonna be around Broadway & Craycroft. This morning the sign was up! It's in the NE corner of Broadway & Kolb, in the building where the Rockin' Baja Lobster was previously. There's a huge patio and they better have a few smoking tables there as in the NW location! Particularly since I'm raving about them here! The Baja Lobster chose not to utilize this opportunity and folded, which made me very happy! Other than that it was a cool place and at first I was looking forward to going there until I found out they brought their wonderful Californian ways with them...

Interesting, Sierra . . .

I'm not familiar with the location but could it be they were honoring the "20 to 25 feet from a door or a window" Tucson law?

Just recently, there was a report on one of the Local TV News Shows that the City is clamping down on restaurants and bars not in compliance.

I also found out about this yesterday when I was getting my hair done. My hairdresser is going to be a waiter there. I LOVE Greek food. I can taste the Spanakopita now!

Well, let's hope there is some room for us, second-hand citizens...

Since the Big Fat Greek on West River Road has shut down, I've been to the Broadway and Kolb location about two or three times a month . . . the service and food have always been excellent.

Give 'em another chance . . .

Sierra, I'm reading a book and came across the following passage and immediately thought of you:

Quote:
As usual, we were on the very fringe of the smoking section. Jerry always requested this location so he could blow smoke at anyone he suspected of harboring antismoking sentiments. He felt strongly that freedom to smoke was a constitutionally protected right. As he lit up his first unfiltered Camel, I could see him scanning the nearby nonsmoking tables for potential fascists.
