Looks like the economic picture is getting worse now that Mervyns is going to close all 149 stores over the next few months. This also affects the 3 stores on the Southside, Eastside, and Tucson Mall. With the closure comes more job losses that will affect hundreds of employees. However, for the customers, be on the look out for going out of business sales that are due to happen in the comming months ahead.

I am surprised that Mervyns has lasted this long............I have not set foot in one for many years now.

As far as I have heard, 60 years. But that is the company itself. The
Tucson Mervyns might have been around for about 30 years or less (correct me if i'm wrong).

I feel the same way. Won't miss it one bit. The downside is more empty stores as eyesores.
