I would say The Arboretum is a safe and a nice place to live. The Arboretum is a beautiful complex and the rent isn't bad based on how many rooms you need. Lowest is $490 and highest is $724. The farther North you are from Midtown or Downtown, the safer your friend will be.

I used to live at The Arboretum 12 years ago and it was really nice. There used to be 2 areas of the The Arboretum; those on the north side of Snyder, and those on the South. I lived on the North side, and there were washers/dryers in the apartments. The apartments on the north side of Snyder are no longer the Arboretum, but rather condos.

The apartments on the south side (the only ones left at the Arboretum), to the best of my knowledge, don't have washers/dryers right in the apartments, you must use their laundry room (which sucks, to me. Washer/dryer in the apartment is an absolute must to me.)

So, though they are nice, be sure to check about the washers/dryers. BTW, absolutely beautiful area up there.

Depends on the person. 1. is in a very beautiful area somewhat far away. 2. and 3. are more centrally located.

1. - Scorpion encounters have been reported on the North side of town.

2. - great location; at some point you couldn't get Cox there because they had a contract with some other company - not sure if it still holds true

3. - generally nice and central area

I haven't seen any of these apartments inside. If I'm not mistaken the size of the balconies/patios in 1. are a joke.

Well, in the past when I was reading apartment reviews (because I was evaluating them, too), scorpion encounters were always mentioned on the North side.

On this site mostly: Apartment Ratings :: The leading source of apartment reviews by renters for renters. . However, now I saw it's been revamped and most reviews have disappeared... There used to be many.

Sure. I think all of these apartments are OK. For a young and single person probably the 2 more centrally located ones would be better.

All depends on what you like. Honestly, living at Arboretum, if you shoot across Sunrise and then down Craycroft, you're at Craycroft and Grant within 10 to 12 minutes from The Arboretum. And if you like living in the foothills (like I did), the 10 or so extra minutes of driving is basically nothing. It was worth it to me, but, who knows what your friend might like.
