True about the growth, but there is also an increase of foreclosures. In the last TWO years they have gone from two to over 60 foreclosures in RS. Sounds like the facade is beginning to crack. The mayor herself is not optimistic.

We are renting here in RS, while our own home is being built in Sycamore Canyon. Our experience here has left us eager to move out. Even in the Nightline episode, the reporter touches on the almost cult-like atmosphere around here. The people of RS are devoted to the place with a nearly religious fervor. Leaves us feeling like we fell into Stepford Wives-ville. Just kind of creepy.

That's just us though. Obviously it feels like home to many others, or there wouldn't be so many homes here in RS.

they were hitting on the fact that houses are still being sold and built here like hotcakes where in most cities/town's sales are down and new home construction has come to a standstill. That doesnt have much to do with foreclosures. It's talking about still selling houses, not weather or not people decide to pay for them, haha.

As for the "cult" comment... I havent a clue what you are talking about. For $56/month I get a good HOA, full use of a waterpark for my kids during the summer, endless activities available to me, parks everywhere, dog parks, a free gym and a stocked lake for my son to fish and much more. Not too many places offer that, especially for $56/month. Hell, most people pay more than that for HOA dues and get none of our benefits. Plus this place is always clean. I saw graffiti on a park are once and 2 days later it was repainted. Pretty good IMO. Most places leave it for months, even years.

Also, the local schools are VERY good. some of the best in the Tucson area. That was a huge selling point for me.
