I will be moving to the Tucson area in about two weeks for one years employment . Can anyone tell me how the public transit/bus service is?
Also, i will be working in the S.Pantano Rd. area. I there any shopping, eaterys around that area. (22nd and S.Pantano)
Also, I've sent out numerous email to apartments but have not received even one reply. Is finding an apartment in this area really that difficult ?

Thanks.

That's kind of a questionable area anyway. I'd look a little farther east, say around the Harrison and Broadway areas. There's a few complexes there that I wouldn't be afraid to walk around at night at. There's grocery stores and dining all within about 5 miles of the area.

Tucson public transportation is a joke as a rule. There's Sun-Tran bus system and that's it.

There are some nice apartments in the East side. When I moved to Tucson, I lived in a great apartment on Camino Seco/ 8900 Speedway, (Brittany Court Apartments). Great apartments, with fireplace and washer/dryer hookups in all the units. Inexpensive as well. The public transportation system is easy to figure out, but as in most cities, all walks of life use it.
Good luck.
