Yeah, I hear you, Bear. The Empire forever! Keep the rebels and the clones down to a minimum.

Any american that uses math or science in their daily work is intimately familiar with the metric system because, well... it's better.
Again, opinions.

I'm a mechanical engineer and and design and build street rods. I dislike the metric system. It is my opinion that it falls short for small measurements. When you get to a millimeter you start using portions of it. (I.E. .5mm, .25mm) With inches you have much finer numbers, thousants/ten thousants, etc.. Also, when it comes to Celsius/centigrade, people only use it because they are too lazy to learn Fahrenheit. Again, it is a much finer measurement. I never understood why science and engineering/testing use it. It's so easy for them to think of freezing as 0 and boiling as 100. But Fahrenheit is a finer measure, 1.8 degrees F to 1 degree C.

But then again, that's my opinion.

Are you claiming that the English system provides for more accurate measurement than the metric system? I don't think so friend. Not even close.

You may prefer the English system, but claiming that it's more precise than the metric system is simply inaccurate. The entire scientific community uses the metric system. There is a reason for that.

Yea, the reason for it is because most countrys use it, and it is easier, not because it is better.

No, the reason science uses the metric system is because it allows measurements to be more precise.

Sure. 15/16 of an inch is so much better! And intuitive and easy to boot!
