My fiance is going to be stationed in Tucson for the Air Force. We need to find a house near the base, and in a good area. I have no idea where to start looking. Where is the best area to live in that is convenient to the base?

Thanks for your HELP!

It's been discussed many times. Search the forum for "the base," "air force base," "Davis Monthan," or "DM."

does DM have an office that helps new residents?....

the areas very near the base are not fantastic, but the Golf Links-Alvernon road that curls around the NW side of the base can help you get to other areas quickly....

are you buying?....if so, a realtor can help you and the seller pays the commission

My dad is retired from the Air Force, but he currently lives in Tucson, as do I. I'll ask him after golf tomorrow, and get back to you. I'm sure they have an office like that, but I can't remember the name. They have all kind of resources on base to help the military(active and retired) and their families. This forum may not be the place to get any informative info regarding DM. And, some of the areas south and west of the base are pretty rough.

I think I remembered the name of the office. Family Services, maybe. I'll double check with my dad later, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

There should be a Base Housing Office at DM. Their job is to provide newcomers with housing information and resources. I would contact them. I lived in Tucson years ago, and found that I really liked living at Broadway and Jessica.
