Well, I got a job down at Ryan Airfield and I'll be heading that way in a few weeks... just curious what Im getting myself into, lol. Everything Ive read here is to stay in the northern section of Tucson to avoid crime and all. I dont mind a slight commute to work if it will be safer for my family in the long run. Im highly considering Oro Valley from what Ive been reading. My wife is into retail (large clothing stores) and Im wondering how many larger type clothing stores are in the Tucson area... a good amount? Also, how are gas prices and teh cost of living down there? Any help would be appreciated.

Far East side (Broadway & Houghton) and North East side (Tanque Verde area) is desirable as well. Crime is extremely low, but a little pricey living. You have all the shopping, eating, and entertainment areas nearby. Park Mall and other retail shops are nearby for your wifes' needs as well. Schools are decent as well. Gas in Tucson is the lowest in Arizona, but I prefer Costco or a Frys Supermarket for a good value.
