Really, besides gassing up and getting some drinks and snacks on the way to Rocky Point (which you can easily do in Lukeville), what purpose does this place serve?! Is there anything else to it other than the few stores at the intersection anyway?
Okay... I Googled up a Wikipedia for all to peruse...

Hey! Now listen... 113 Why residents (2000 Census) might have puh-lenty to say about the wonders of their town! And, I'll be doggone if they don't have a good 120 residents by now!

The Pony ambles into the WHY building, and asks the guy WHY the word WHY was all over their building... as well as the WHY on the vehicle.

He looked at me with a smile on his face, and asked me WHY I wanted to know.

"WHY? People are curious about it," I responded.

He retorted, "Because it brings people in here asking WHY we painted WHY out there!"

"And do you tell them WHY?" I queried.

"I'm pretty sure they know WHY!" He stated.

"So, the WHY on the building brings in curious people..." I commented.

"Painting WHY on the building usually brings in curious people, who may become paying customers..." he indicated.

"I agree!" I said. "Painting WHY on your building SHOULD bring in curious people, but paying customers ONLY if your prices are reasonable. Do you believe that $400-plus for a cast-iron statue of a javelina is reasonable?"

"WHY, do you think that's not reasonable?" he asked.

I replied, "It seems that if items are overpriced, like this javelina, eventually people will stop being curious enough to wonder WHY you painted WHY on your building. It'll be, "WHY shop here?"

"So, WHY don't you just leave, then?" he glared.

As I left, I saw the huge "WHY" in my rear view mirror...

Real conversation or not - it does a great job illustrating the attitude of the employees in that store, when I went in.
