Does Tucson get dust storms at all or with the frequency Phoenix does in the summer? Does it have a monsoon season? I think dust storms are kind of neat in a way - as long as I'm not on the road when they come in. I was thinking perhaps Tucson did get them quite as much.

I've lived in both Phoenix and Tucson, I think the monsoon storms are better in Tucson. They're more frequent and have more rain and lightning. Phoenix and the desert around the Casa Grande area have the biggest dust storms though. Tucson gets some dust storms, but I've never seen one of those big Haboobs in Tucson. They can get huge when a thunderstorm collapses between Phoenix and Tucson and starts blowing around all that dust and farmland out there. I'll never forget the biggest one I saw when it rolled into Phoenix, thousands of feet tall, and just seemed to swallow the whole city.

Here's a link to video of a Haboob from 6/07/06

Anybody got pictures they want to share of their Haboobs?
