Marcy, with all you've been through the past weeks, it sounds like your sense of humor is coming through or at least hanging in there. Home is going to be where you choose now, and those 20-year-olds can just...well you know Maybe the balcony is a good place for the cats...just kidding! Wishing you a quick return to your home in Tucson

I agree with Granny, Marcy!

Time to move forward as dwelling on the past is not only counter-productive and unhealthy, it is probably the last thing your husband would have wanted.

As for the 20 year-old . . . he will adapt and probably move on very soon anyway. You know, school and a job?

As for the cats . . . it has always been beyond me why anyone would have an animal or animals that prefer to pee and poop in the house.

GOOD LUCK and don't hesitate to holler if help is needed.

Thanks for sharing Marcy. One of my biggest fears is about what will happen to my family if something happens to me. Honestly, your story reminds me to take care of myself and try again to quit smoking.

Billy, if I had any advice for anyone, I think my biggest thing would to be sure your survivors know exactly where all your important papers (like a will), how you want your estate distributed, where all your bank accounts are and the account numbers, have a Durable Power of Attorney and a Durable Medical Power of Attorney for the one or ones you choose as your executors so there is no waiting for death certificates and Letters Testamentary in order to accesss money to pay bills. I have overdue bills already, but fortunately, the creditors have been patient, but without my letters, I can't write checks to creditors, and we had quite a few automatic withdrawal payments and now there's no money in the checking account to cover them. So, make sure everyone knows where you keep your important papers, who will be in charge of your estate, have Powers of Attorney, and make your wishes perfectly clear.

I am headed back to OV with the potty mouth who has calmed down. He's lost his best friend, maybe his cats, and will soon lose his childhood home as I have to sell this as I have always been a stay at home mom, so no income anymore, just outgo. I understand it's hard on him and we sat down and talked about how it's just as hard on me as I have to take over chores I never did before and I have to make some huge, life altering decisions that aren't easy. He'll be okay, but he's grieving, too.

We haven't even turned our heat on yet. I keep wondering when it'll get cold. Maybe it doesn't ever get cold here; maybe I'll never get to use my electric blanket ever again!

SO, that is what that wonderful smell was when I was first in Tucson in March! They smell just like lilies.
