The only state where it is acceptable to not observe DST is Hawai'i because they are below the Tropic of Cancer.
DST is of no benefit to the State of Arizona. No benefit whatsoever. As another poster correctly noted, we did "try it" (DST) and again - found no benefit of any kind.

Then the citizens of this Great State voted on keeping DST or not. While I don't remember the exact outcome, the vote to get rid of DST was lopsided to say the least.

Frankly, it is absolutely no big deal at all. Seems we all survived without DST.

I'm not sure what your point was with this post but I'm guessing you still think Arizona sucks without DST. Well then, I guess the state where you live it - that does recognize DST SUCKS also.

There - we are even!!

Gosh, we may have to move to your State. DST, hate it, hate it, hate it, there is something just wrong after having 100 degree day and still the sun is beating in the LR windows at 8:30 at night. I start marking down the 90 days of hell starting June 1.

anybody remember about 15 years ago or so when the two state legislators proposed the state finally go on DST just "to be in line with the rest of the country"?.....

they were thoroughly shouted down within 24 hours.....

Not me. In December, when it's getting dark at 5:30 here, if we "fall back", it'd be dark at 4:30. Yikes.

I love not having to mess with DST and changing those clocks twice a year. I do use that day to check my smoke alarms/change batteries though. Also it puts me on the same time as my kids in Oregon.

I remember, in the early 60s, when Oregon couldn't decide if they wanted DST or not. So some counties/towns/cities were on it and some not. When the smaller towns are so close together it got kinda confusing. My ex's grandfather flat refused to change his clocks and when he made any appointments he made them make them for "his time".
