Howdy

Just got back from a quick jaunt to Tucson for a job interview and house-hunting. I hadn't been there for 5 years, and maybe I had an unrealistically-rosy memory of it in my mind, but I felt like I was stepping back into the 1970's or something when I entered Tucson... everything seemed kinda run-down and the roads were bad and the services/buildings outdated. But I think living in CA we get spoiled with those things...

But that's really not my point. My point in this post is that clearly a lot of people love Tucson and I know it had lots of redeeming qualities. I thought maybe people would like to share their favorite thing to do, place to go, place to live, or aspect of living in Tucson that makes their world go round. Maybe it's the orange trees outside your house or the awesome restaurant down the street from you. As someone moving back to the area, I would love to read about what makes the place special to you.

Have fun!

When we lived in Tucson my wife and I used to love going to the Gaslight Theater on Broadway. The shows were all written and produced by a local theater company, and they were all musical comedies/slapstick/farce. Plus they serve food and drinks. It was a great time.

I love the sky, too! I think it's the most beautiful sky I've ever seen.

THE NEAR PERFECT WEATHER, Plantlove.

As for the "back in time" atmosphere . . . it discourages the California "Hoity Toitys" from moving here.

! ! ! ! ! !

Hey there, I'm curious what Robert's and Midway Molina are?

I'm really enjoying reading what everyone has to share about why Tucson's great.... bummer Bummer comments aside.

I'm looking forward to experiencing the monsoon, if it comes. I love thunderstorms and have missed them, living on the West Coast. Growing up in Philly we had some pretty spectacular summer storms...

I mulled this over and for me it just changes daily.

Sometimes it's the weather, other times the scenery or sunrise (interchangeable with sunset), the great food I'm eating or like today just out for a walk round Reid Park and stumbling across the Colorado Rockies minor league teams in extended Spring training and being able to be right in the mix with the guys.
