Surprised there's not another Thread on this.
Short of capturing them, or going under the house, are there other remedies. Trying to keep them from under the house, as I have one slowly CHEWING AT THE FLOOR from underneath!
Thanks...!

Call The Skunk Whisperer Ned Bruha. Possums have more teeth than any other land mammal.

I've used my bird dogs to flush 'em out before. If you have some larger dogs that do not mind mixing it up a little bit with other critters then that could be a solution for you....assuming you can get them under the house (crawlspace?).

Our GSD hates them. She keeps all varmints away and we never had to train her to do it, she just hates them.

If I didn't have a dog, I would get a .22. Sounds harsh, but it's your home you are protecting.

Catch them in a live trap, skin them out, slow roast with sweet potatoes and a persimmon sauce.

Opossum is way too greasy..... I don't care how you cook it, same goes for groundhog. I've had it when I was a kid, but I don't care if I ever have it again.

Remember yer Grannies house? The smells of bengay, cedar & mothballs? LOL. I have had such problems with the possums as well, including having them climb on-top of my rabbits cages outside. I would catch them in a trap, but somehow, they would return. I also has a problem with coach-whip snakes, Rats and mice, my house abuts 27 open acres of city owned property......( and yes, the city of Tulsa " DOES" keep it neatly groomed/mowed).so.... contrary to cheyenne pepper, dog hair, and dog poop- cut a piece of nylon stocking, toss in a few mothballs, set in a glass saucer (becuz they are poison, do not put directly on the ground) and the rodents / snakes, and all others will not come around again. Some may warn against the use of mothballs, but to keep your pets, kids and property safe from harm, this does work. { Just make sure that you seal off the entrance to the under-neath of your house, so the domestic neighborhood pets & kids can't get near them.}
