I moved in to my house several years ago with some piers put in before I moved in. I need to get them redone...so I was wondering if there is a place where I can find who did my peirs? I would think someone would have that info. I did look through all my records and not coming up with much. Please help.

Joey

We had 26 stainless steele piers put under our house 20 years ago. I don't think that company is still in business. The house across the street has concrete piering. They have to redo it every 5 years.

If I were having problems with piering, I would simply ask one of the better companies to come give me a quote. Chances are the guy that comes out will say "Looks like XXXXXX did the original piers and this is what goes wrong with them and this is what we need to do to fix them." If XXXXXX is still in business, you can call them later and see if they honor their work. Getting a quote usually doesn't cost anything, and mos of the pros have seen everyone elses work and can identify it.

Echoing Goodpasture's comments - I would ONLY go with a reputable company for exactly this reason. It's going to be more expensive but any future problems will be covered.

And if you're buying a house with piers, demand the name of the company and any documentation before you close. True for any major repairs on any home. Most homeowners will have and provide this information.

I walked out of the closing on our first home (in Houston) for a termite certificate/guaranty that had not been transferred to our names. "We'll do it after the closing....really!"

I thought hubby and my dad were going to die!

I have been doing Foundation repair my whole life i am originally from okc but live in Tulsa now I have worked all over state and installed many new piers right next to piers that failed. I could look at the piers you have and iam 90 percent sure I can tell you wish company did them
