OKC meto area is the 35th and Tulsa is 45th largest in US. The Oklahoman came in at 57 and the Tulsa World came in at 81. Don't look that good for Oklahoma. Maybe us Okies don't read the paper.

Almost all newspapers are losing readership as more people get their news online.

There are the national papers that are going to be larger, and in very large cities there are still multiple daily and suburban regional papers that are going to be larger than our newspapers. NY, Chicago and LA probably have 15-20 newspapers larger than ours between them alone.

I don't know. You would need more data to know that.

If you want to look at readership I would probably go with Metro areas and first off want to know what percentage of the paper is sold within and outside the local metro area. A far reaching paper like the Oklahoman is going to have a higher percentage of sales outside the OKC metro than the World is. I would also want to add in online views and then you could establish a baseline area readership for that specific paper. I would want to compare that to peer cities. From there I would want to add all local daily papers in each metro and find an overall newspaper readership for each metro area.

That would tell you how well read the local paper is as compare to the total number of readers in each city. And what percentage of the population is a newspaper reader overall and would then be able to compare those numbers to other cities and papers so that you can rank the data.
