I don't know..... my Stepfather (who is Creek) watches the news and just shakes his head. He will say, "Those dang Cherokees just CAN'T stay out of trouble...or out of the news." And the Creek/Muscogee aren't doing much better lately with the Chief in the news all the time. I live close to Okmulgee, Beggs to be exact...just saying.

Oh Gawd! I've been calling it the Redstick war of 2010-11 Since I work for my tribe, I keep my mouth shut and keep on going. Juz waiting for election time.

Now, I think Kiowas, Comanches, and Poncas are fun and crazy. If you break up with a Comanche guy beware: in the middle of the night you'll be woken to the sound of a drum and 49 songs coming from your front lawn.

If I'm crazy, it's not the Muscogee, it's the French/Irish in me.

LOL.

My folks always warned us of Comanches too! God love 'em!

Most of eastern Oklahoman's and a lot of those western folk are ndn. Asking us if ndn's are common will result in giggles or irritation....sometimes both......like asking someone wearing a lei at the airport if they are haoli.......

Those "indians" were imported from Florida and Georgia in 1833...as you know Oklahoma didn't have any indians before that time.

OMG! Now those old civilized NDNs have to stick their nose up in the air! Don't listen to GoodPasture. His tribe is still in line at the Drive In movies waiting for that movie "Closed For Winter" to start.

The trickster coyote always teaches life lessons by the use of humor. In this case, Oklahoma is home to 40+ tribes. So we notice white people walking around just the way you notice a lot of skins walking around.

In case you are wondering, eastern Oklahoma tribes are "civilized" while the western half of the state is where you will find NDN's walking down the street eating raw kidneys.

LOL! Nana, you are going to love it here. We joke a lot and it might confuse outsiders, but it's all in fun. Not making sense to the pale face seems to be our best characteristic! Here is a link to get you started on further not understanding us.

Native American Trickster Tales

I love old trickster tales. Enjoy!
