What transit plans are on the books for Tulsa? Is light rail or street car system part of those plans?

Light rail and streetcar are in the plans. But they are just plans at this point. It is a good possibility that funding for these could come from a renewal of the Vision 2025 tax that was voted on in 2003, and expires in 2016. If voters renew it that could mean more transit projects in Tulsa.

Cool. Hope that comes to pass. One more question, do you think there is a need for commuter rail from the burbs or should there just be light rail right in the city?

There isn't a pressing 'need' for light rail or streetcar right now. The biggest cities in the country are just now getting or expanding their light rail/streetcar network. Houston, the 4th largest metro in the country, has just one built light rail line. Tulsa is beginning the initial planning for what will be built when traffic problems eventually occur 10-15 years from now.

That line here in Houston runs between downtown and Texas Medical Center if I'm not mistaken. I've just been in this city about 3 months so there's a lot I don't know about it. There are plans for expansion and new lines but that's a few years off. I remember someone saying that even NWA or the region consisting of Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers-Bentonville were having a feasibility study concerning light rail.
