Previous posts have asked where to get green chile in Tulsa, OK.

Right now the best green chile you can get in Tulsa at a restaurant is at Whataburger for a limited time. It is good fire roasted New Mexico green chile. The flavor is great! The special is a double meat double cheese burger with green chile, combo meal and that's what they're pushing, (or a Jr. double). But I've found you can request any menu item (like a regular burger) and have them add green chile to it. Today I ordered the grilled chicken sandwiche with green chile. Just enough heat to bring out the good green chile flavor.

Also, Chile's right now, for a limited time, has a couple of menu items with green chile sauce. But you can also order the sauce on the side - great as a warm salsa with chips. It has tomatillos in it, so is not authentic New Mexican style, but is still very tasty.

So, for you transplanted New Mexicans craving green chile - go enjoy!

Try The Diner in Norman. Nothing in Tulsa, sad, but I know the Diner is there. They do indeed have green chili smothered on a burrito. I lived in ABQ for 5 yrs and Denver for 3 (so I know the taste), of course Denver thinks they know what green chili is, but they just get the leftovers from NM.

Thumbs up Green Chile in Tulsa

For those seeking a Mexican Restaurant in Tulsa with Green Chile:
Chuy's (918) 252-0405
10808 E 71st Street
Tulsa, OK 74133
South side of 71st street just E of Hwy 169, just before Chipotle’s.

They have two green chile sauces (both pretty good and pretty spicy):
"Hatch Green Chile" - made with beef stock
"Green Chile" - made with chicken stock and tomatoes (but not too many)

I had the relleno enchilada combo (both chicken). The relleno was good and crispy. They're happy to bring samples of any sauces to you before you order, so you know what you're getting.

Overall I was pleased and plan to go back.

You want green chilies?

I happen to be in Green Chili mecca - Santa Fe! Been here since June. I'm enjoying green chili, red chili, Christmas. I'm eating rellenos and things I can't pronounce.

I will be in New Mexican chili withdrawl when I leave. I may require hospitilization!

If ANYONE wants chilis or powder, let me know and I will bring extra!

Seriously!

off topic of this thread - but while in Santa Fe try "The Shed". Note: show up 30 min before opening time and get your name on the seating list. Espanola has some good new mexican restaurants. And head E from Espanola 5 mi on hwy 76 to Rancho de Chimayo.
