Yeah, Bixby/Jenks/Glenpool ("South County" I guess they call it now) has been in the process of gentrification for some time. Still very affordable, but getting more crowded.

The other side of the county is more sparse and less expensive, but also a little more depressed and rural-feeling.

Sand Springs and Sapulpa to the West are also still small and cheap.

I have to agree with some of the others who've said that there are plenty of places in town that are reasonable...cute little neighborhoods...maybe South and West of campus a little bit.

There are some pretty crackheaded areas of T-Town as well though.

I personally don't know if I could live in Oklahoma again mainly due to the weather but also because it is (for the most part) so featureless and flat. Not to mention landlocked.

I live in the Pacific NW now and am glad to be within an hour or so of the Pacific. I don't know if I could happily give up the ocean.

Hi Kristine,

I have lived in Tulsa now for 12 years after living in many states, MA, NY, FL,TX. We chose to live in South Tulsa, for Jenks Public schools, very family oriented. There are opportunities for your husband as a Chef I believe here due to a good economy, and opportunity.
If you have any questions or concerns please let me know regarding schools, sports, restaurants, etc. I am a Realtor and can assist with information to buy, or sell as well.
