Gilcrease, hands down is a must. Make time to do it. You'll get the full on effect of Southwestern and Western art and much more. The gardens are stunning as well.

Blessings.
Thanks for the suggestions. I am not sure if they will have their own rental car. They might just use a service. Jay

Thanks for the east coast eatery suggestions but are there any great local restaurants they should check out? Anything really good downtown where they likely are going to be staying? Your help is greatly appreciated. Jay
I am sort of pushed for time performing Family stuff I will get back to you later.

You know this is funny but I just recently found out that I have European Jewish DNA along with Polynesian DNA locked somewhere deep down in my own DNA can you imagine that?

And to make matters worse time is not going to allow me to tell this story , I'm on my Android smartphone where I can't send you hyperlinks. about the stuff you want to know about , I had four or five computers in the past but haven't had one in the last 10 years , computers are great with sending out hyperlinks. Myself and my wife and three children only my 21 year old daughter has a computer , I guess I'll break down and buy me one soon or at the very least buy a tablet.

There are small but powerful Jewish and African American communities in Tulsa Oklahoma, as far as the (Jewish Community) goes (Google) (George Kaiser) Tulsa Oklahoma.

Then Google the COLORED Wall Street or rather the NEGRO Wall Street the Black Wall Street is just recently when Greenwood was just a empty shell of itself.

Then Google 24-hour bakery downtown Tulsa Oklahoma....

I've had Dink's, it's good, but there no other BBQ places in Oklahoma at the level of Burn Co, it's among the best in the country.

Unless they are going to Uber everywhere a car is very necessary in Tulsa. I would think a few Ubers would pay for a rental car. It really would be difficult to get a feel for Tulsa without driving around.

I agree, Burn Co is the best in the Tulsa area. Also Butcher BBQ Stand in Wellston is very good, it is only open Fri, Sat, Sun and is not a restaurant, they have some outdoor picnic tables. The best BBQ I have had is at Pecan Lodge in Dallas.

I told him that but you know kids today. Rental cars and driving yourself are so Baby Boomerish. Thanks, Jay

I've heard great things about Burn Co. but my inside source (extended family in Tulsa) prefers Dinks. I'm sure it's just preference as Oklahoma BBQ is as good or better than anywhere. Next time I'm in T-Town I'll make time for it and give a review.

I prefer Smokin' Joes in Davis for the title of "best" BBQ in Oklahoma. Long and thick pork spare ribs are second to none. I would put it up against anything I've had elsewhere in the Southwest or the Southeast and certainly KC.

Seriously he shouldn't consider moving to Tulsa if he isn't car friendly. The walkability in this town is about a negative 2. We walk from parking lots to doors, not because people don't want to walk but it is how the city is either due to layout or traffic or safety.

I understand. He does too. The job offer is just too good to turn down just because the city may not be as walkable as east coast cities, plus he is not coming from a particularly walkable place. He will have a car when moving there. He, like many of his generation, want it all. Guess we did too when we were that age. I know my grandparents who lived through the Depression, thought we were spoiled. Maybe we were. Jay

Hey, I am just happy someone is posting in this forum. The Tulsa forum does not get a lot of activity. It's nice to see some information that may help others moving here being posted.
