Also kinda strange, after looking at the very first post from this poster was back in 2006 essentially doing the same thing. Then out of the blue just started back up.

Evidently, someone got ungrounded....

The mayor is paying us to post on here?! Wow, when do I get my check? :-P And here I thought I was just a self-employed artist... Does this change my tax status? Guess I need to inform my accountant.

Btw, I am a 4th generation Tulsan with a LOT of family here lol. Its amazing how through all this horrible crime and gang violence any of us have managed to survive ;-P Though since there are so many of us now, perhaps we are the biggest gang and therefore I am protected from the violence. Plus, if you come near me,,, watch out, I am seriously lethal with a paint brush. I am serious now,,, I have a loaded paint brush and I KNOW how to use it!

With the $100 per post that the Mayor has been giving me, I'll be retiring soon. I'm leaning toward moving to St. Louis.

Tulsa life can be almost whatever you want it to be. Living in different parts of town will afford you opportunities to connect with different kinds of people. As a Christian, I connect well with my group of friends here in South Tulsa that have similar beliefs as I do. There are Christians all over the city and when talking to people is is rare to find individuals who do not at least profess to be Christian to your face, even if they deny their beliefs to others or by their lifestyle. But I digress...
There are liberals, atheists, poor, rich, cultured, uncultured, hicks, snobs, intelligent, sarcastic, country-folk, city-folk, minorities, etc., all within the city limits and suburbs.

My suggestion to you, since you have an 8 year old, is to move to an area where there is good schooling. This is especially important if you plan on sending your child to a public school. With rare exceptions, the Tulsa Public School system is average to very poor, in some cases. However, you can still live in Tulsa and go to quality schools, such as Jenks (I went there my whole life), or Union (Our rival, and virtual equal in every way). To go to these schools, you will basically have to live anywhere south of 71st street, but still within Tulsa city limits. I enjoy South Tulsa, although many on here may find it boring and cookie-cutter. It is safe, clean, uncrowded, and friendly. The Riverwalk, at 96th and Riverside, is down here, as well as the Tulsa Aquarium, Woodland Hills Mall and the other MILLION stores surrounding it. There is Turkey Mountain, at 71st on the River. It is good for recreational activities. Other South Tulsa Parks include Hunter Park and LaFortune Park. The Riverparks extends to 101st Street, with new restaurants and shops in the area.

That's my take on South Tulsa, at least. You will find opinions of other parts of Tulsa readily elsewhere on this site.
