I hope that vid works...

Storm watch, Tornadoes, Thunderstorms, Weather News - weather.com

For those of you who are new to the State I hope you are taking some precautions just in case this one gets nasty.

The biggest problem will be power outages and travel difficulties. If your house is heated with only Electricity be sure that you have a SAFE way of keeping warm. Keep some food on hand that won't need to be cooked and bottled water if your house uses an electric pump to get water.

Also go out and check to be sure the power lines to your house are clear of ANY potential problems... If you have any trees or tall bushes nearby the branches will bend from the weight of the ice and wind up ON your power lines.

If this storm is as bad as 2007 you could be looking at a week or more without power depending on your location.

Plan ahead, be careful and stay safe y'all!! Oh yeah...and cross your fingers that this storm fizzles out!!

If anyone else has good advice please post.

Fill your vehicles up with gas tonight. During the last ice storms several gas stations were without power and we had to drive around to find an open gas station.

Also, pull your windshield wipers away from your windshield tonight so they don't get stuck to the windshield if we get ice.
