Am I going out of my mind or did this show actually exist??? I swear, I can remember this show I used to watch as a child and I believe the woman was Phyllis Diller. She used to come out in big fuzzy slippers, a cigarette in a long holder and would usually be wearing a bathrobe or something, hair all messy, etc. I remember the laugh she had was crazy (like Phyllis Diller)
Maybe it wasn't Phyllis Diller?
I can't remember if it was one of those cartoon shows where they had a live host in between the cartoons or something else.
Diller did one with John Astin where they were a family of rich socialites who went broke from tax evasion. They were allowed to keep up appearances and keep the family mansion but basically had to get by on a meager allowance worked out with the IRS.
Not a great show especially since the plot was a stretch. The IRS shows no mercy and would be on them like a flock of vultures.
Benita Bizarre was Martha Ray from a a Sid and Marty Kroft show.
