Kevin Eubanks was LET GO???????? Now they have some new clowns in his place which is the new band and that pretty much confirmed that I won't be watching the Tonight Show again.
Not sure he was "let go". I saw him being interviewed and he pretty much said it was his decision. Said he needs a break and Jay Leno is a workaholic and Jay never wants a day off. But Kevin said he wants family time, vacation time, time to do other things.

But yea Leno's show sucks. Always has though.
He sounds like he is on medication because Leno went on vacation all the time. WTH is he talking about?
It was announced that Kevin Eubanks was leaving before Leno actually returned to the Tonight Show. Kevin stayed for a couple of months after they returned. Jay put him on the couch and interviewed him about it and later he performed as the musical act as a nice parting moment. It was not a surprise to anyone who watched. We know it was his choice to leave, not that he was let go.
He also took the band with him, so Leno had to start from scratch. Surprisingly (to me) he took Ricky Minor away from his American Idol job and he and his band have a different style, as expected, that is still in the newbie stages on the show. Ricky is used to not conversing at all while on American Idol, so I imagine it's a big adjustment for him.
I heard it was Kevin's decision, too. Anyway, does it really matter to the viewer that much? They never got to play much that was heard on television anyway.
Since Kevin left, I find I'm not watching the show that much anymore.
The new band is way less than impressive and the interaction between Jay and Ricky Minor is "forced" at best.
The band leader is usually almost a sidekick, thinking of Kevin Eubanks, Doc Severinsen, Paul Shaffer, Max Weinberg. There's usually a pretty strong rapport, and I'm not seeing anything with this guy.
