Jax, will you ever be getting something more than
dialup in your neck of the woods????? Come on!!!! Your world needs to get into the 21st Century!!!! Don't feel badly, my daughter's "woods" doesn't have anything but dialup too. So frustrating.
We've been told no way because there are just not enough houses in our area to warrant running new lines for it. Love my wide open spaces and only 3 houses on our roads in a mile usually but there are tiny drawbacks.

Not since the show started recruiting contestants it seems huh? I'd rather see the farmers, bus drivers, coaches, cooks etc real people from real life. Instead of all these corporate & model/actress types.
Me too. I hate the mactors. (model/actor). How much complaining does it take for them to listen? I don't know of anyone who think the game or show is enhanced by the use of them.

Neither can I! I think "the bloom faded off the rose" when people realized they had to give up their jobs to do Survivor and there was no guarantee that they would win! Hence the people who really have "no job or life"!!! IMO only. I would really like to see "real" people.
Have you read the 10 pages of qualifiers and the rights and other things you are required to relinquish. The information you have to provide is more than what the government wants for a CIA spy. I can see why so many people give up after reading all those requirements and the fact CBS is not responsible for anything that goes wrong.

They don't have to recruit; they want to. Actors and models, like anyone desperate for exposure, tend to be tractable. CBS found out with Will Kirby on BB that it's a real pain having someone on the show who is too entertaining not to include, but who just doesn't give a damn what the producers want or think. They cast the show with certain niches in mind, and the easiest way to fill them is to go recruit someone you know who fits one.
This is common. I once responded to a posting by a local fluff TV talk show producer on a given subject, and was invited to be on the show. Talking with everyone else invited, I realized that I was about the only one there who was not involved in TV media already--they had carefully made sure they had tractable people who knew the basic game, knew how to deliver speech for TV. And that's why they asked me only one perfunctory question, and paid me no attention the entire rest of the hour. Total waste of my time, except for the proper cynicism I learned about the entire process, which saved me having to work hard later to think disrespectfully of it. Never do again, not unless I have my own agenda somehow.
It hasn't even started and I already can't stand Alina, "Benry" and Brenda. I'm afraid to read any more bios for fear I might hate them all and have no one to root for.
