Back in the 70's had a shorted series called Sierra about Park Rangers and a Park in the Sierras. Title song was written by John Denver. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1J7P...eature=related The singing is in English the rest is a foriegn language It was the only one I could find. [Beautiful song]
There was a show with Linda Elerbee and Ray Gandolf called "Our World" I thought it was great. It picked a year at random and told you what happened. The events of that year, politics, prices, movies, clothing and hair styles, fads etc. Sort of like those little booklets you see in the store about the events that happened in the year you were born. Except on tv. Detroit 187 will also be missed in my household.
The Event -- What a terrific show, it kept you on the edge of your seat much like 24! I hope another network and/or cable channel will pick it up! I truly hated to hear that it was cancelled.
Sometimes I wonder why the networks even bother to air a new series; they barely give it a chance, and then the ax falls - sheesh!
I thought Freaks and Geeks was superb. It showed a lot of teenage angst without being sappy or stupid. It was not renewed for a second season. The cast and writing were top-notch. The network should've given it a shot at a second season, maybe in a different time slot. I have it on DVD and can't get enough of it.
