I don't think she's funny either, and all of those "ad lib" lines of hers are rehearsed back stage before the show. Apparently there are no strict rules about being able to call yourself a comedian.
She doesnt bother me at all. She (along with Barbara and Whoopie) seems to be the most well rounded of the bunch of goofs on the view. She definitely seems to have more common sense than the other ladies and is much much better of looking things objectively. Now that Hassellback chick is imo the most annoying woman on television. My god I cant stand that chick.
I don't adore her but she doesn't grate on my nerves at all. In fact, I think she can be pretty funny but, even more so, I share many of her serious opinions and think she does a pretty good job asserting/defending her position. Like Maggie, I really enjoyed her talk show and wish it was still running. Like Lao, I think Whoopie and Joy are the most reasonable and thoughtful on The View and find Elizabeth to be the most eye-rollingly annoying.
but then I dont like Oprah either, she is annoying
That's a whole other thread.
Talk about taking advantage of demographics. She is really not exceptional in any way, except that she can feign phony empathy to her guests who have had a hard life...and lets us know more than once that she is a survivor of sexual abuse.
She really stole Phil Donahue's thunder. But, then, he is male, white, and Notre Dame educated. Realistically, he is the "founder" of that genre of show.
I've seen her stand up act, funny as hell.
If you don't like her comedy your either a Republican or you have no sense of humor.
