Read that Amazon Prime video is going to change in 2024
Will offer ads on additional content (like FreeVee does not) and will introduce an ad-free tier that will cost $3 more per month—
Up til now Amazon Prime has brought 1 membership w/free shipping and free video content for same price
So look for that to change in 2024

I’m getting tired of these freaking cash grabs by these big corporations.
and then they wonder why the workers are forming Unions and going on strike.

I'm not sure I see this as a cash grab...just a business decision.

Those are probably driven by same motive—profit—
Maybe just difference in scale
Of course the cost of Prime membership has gone up as well to offset higher costs of offering “free” services like fast shipping, digital storage, music and video offerings

I have had Prime for many years, just for the shipping, not for music or video streaming. Always wished they would not bundle all that, so I could pay only for the shipping feature, and pay less than the bundle price, but it was still worth the price.

Now that I have fast fiber optics internet I have started using Amazon Prime Video. I avoid FreeVee as I do not like ads. Not offended by people who don't mind the ads, but I just won't watch anything with ads. I use my cloud DVR to record live sports and then watch them later, skipping over all the ads.

Just got the email telling me about the introduction of ads on Prime Video. At first I thought, DANG, might consider not using Prime Video at all. Then I saw the $3 a month option, or $36 a year extra for not having ads. And I will sign up for that. I don't like them changing the rules, but it is still worth it, to me, to not have ads.

Me, too. I see it as a bargain.

I hate the increase. However I hate ads even more.

I hate ads, but I hardly find anything to watch on prime anyway, so my answer would be no. I’m only in it for the free shipping.
