I'm confused about it. I believe that the original 5 hour long episodes that CC aired were actually aired as half hour shows on HBO back in 2011. But last night's episode showed Brodie at the premier of Hangover 3, and it looks like they are continuing on.
If you haven't seen it, it's about a comedian named Brodie Stevens who's been diagnosed as Bi-Polar. He lives in Southern California and is good friends with Zach Galifinakis who is the producer of the show and is on it often. The "reality" show deals with Brodie trying to make it in comedy as well as trying to deal with his mental issues.
It's done quite realistically, but since the second episode centered around him having a breakdown and having to go into a mental hospital for a short period (which of course wasn't aired) it seems very likely that the show is scripted. Either way, it's an entertaining show in a strange timeslot (12AM Sundays/Monday Morning) made even more strange by the fact that Comedy Central advertises the show quite a bit during their regular broadcasts.
I thought Brody Stevens was pretty funny on the Chelsea Lately round table. (Didn't know he was the warm up guy till I saw Enjoy It) So I watched what I think were the first 4 half hour episodes. They were somewhat interesting. I think there are now ~8 half hour episodes drifting around online. Not sure if I will chase them down.
Just found out that this Sunday night is the final episode, plus Brody's premier Half Hour special.
Again the episodes are airing at midnight and then the special premiers at 1am.
