As happy as I am that Bosch will be back, I'm a little PO'd we have to wait a year. Well over seems to fit the Bosch character just as well as Robert Urich (R.I.P.) fit Spenser back in the 80s. The only other thing I remember him from is when he was Jimmy O on Sons of Anarchy. Now I need to look up his filmography to see what else he was in.
Looking forward to season 2 and if Man in the High Castle is at least half as good as Bosch, Amazon may be on to something
Have read all of them--more than once in some cases
To me Hugh Laurie looks thin even if tall--maybe influenced by the House role even if didn't watch the series and doesn't fit my image of Bosch

When I first started reading Michael Connelly, I pictured Gene Hackman, and later, for a long time, Robert Clohessy. Hugh Laurie is my most recent mental image.
BTW, you cited Richard Grieco as a supporting actor in Bosch upthread. If you meant the actor who played Raynard Waits, that was actually Jason Gedrick. They do look alike, though.

When I read the books, I envisioned someone like Fred Dryer as Harry, but he's now too old for the part. It took a few moments to visualize, but I agree that Hugh Laurie would be good, too.
I do love Titus Welliver in the role, he's done a great job capturing the essence of the character. I've seen him in a few things, but really know him as "The Man in Black" from the tv show, LOST.
I've read all the books but so sporadically stretched out over the years I get everything mixed up between Bosch and Joe Pike and others.
I think I always imagined Bosch a little less buffed out/masculine. The music, the living in his head. I think I imagined him something more like....Elvis Costello? Old suit, glasses, big but a little nerdy. Yah, IDK I think my mind has left the bldg LOL
Kaurie is too frail for Harry Bosch IMO
I was thinking someone bigger--I think in the books when people see Harry who don't know him, they think he is big and dumb--so I would imagine someone more burly--like a younger version of Harry Gardino or a taller Peter Falk...
I'm now reading Echo Park, in Chapter 17 of which Harry has to change into scrubs at a hospital, and the person giving them to him decides that Medium would be the proper size.
