This is TV history: ‘Empire’ keeps rising in the ratings — and nothing EVER rises in the ratings. - The Washington Post

For the record the show isn't good at ALL,but it proves the myth that Hollywood has fed us over the years of "well we don't use all black casts because the ratings won't be good" is nothing but BS

Everybody I work with loves this show, they talk about it all the time but I haven't seen it yet...maybe I should, lol. I held off on trying Breaking Bad until the final season, then I ended up having to buy the DVDs for the seasons I missed on Amazon, lol.

Empire is a fun show....glad I saw the first show and continued.
Cookie is so good, the story lines are great...it's different, too.
I'm not insane for it like everyone else, tho...I could
miss a few episodes and it would be ok.

The Big Bang Theory rose in ratings. So did Seinfeld. A lot of things do.

I think that the title is pretty sensationalized to merely come to this conclusion:

"....the drama became the first series since 1991 (when Nielsen started a new way of tracking ratings) to*increase for a consecutive five weeks."

I guess drama and consecutive weeks are a big deal, but for the journalist to lead in with "Nothing EVER Rises in the Ratings"?

Total bunk.

It's just a TV show...that has some good moments...like
Cookie displaying her honesty ...opening up her coat to show she was ready
for lovin' after idiot ex-hubby gives her a red rose...and then announces his engagement to someone else. Men are stupid universally. Oops, my bad.

Or the cat fight that Cookie started.
And Jamal's music and gay lifestyle in the $12,000 a month loft.
Lucious' killing of his old buddy...gangsta stuff!
And the clothes!

I enjoy it more that Secret and Lies and American Crime, personally...
way more fun and action. (Those I never saw a 2nd show.)
