I was a six-year-old little girl in 1954 when I saw my very first TV medical drama. It was called "Janet Dean, Registered Nurse." I'd be surprised if anybody here even remembers it, but I was fixated on the adventures of the leading character who was played by actress Ella Raines.

In my teens, I fell in love with "Ben Casey." I wasn't too much of a "Dr. Kildare" fan; he just wasn't macho enough for me, I guess. At about the time I got married in 1970, I remember loving to watch "Medical Center" with Chad Everett. Later on, I was into "St. Elsewhere" and "Trapper John, MD." At present, "Chicago Med" is one of my favorite TV show. I don't know what it is but I just love the drama of the medical field, even though I had zero interest in ever going into medicine myself.

I'm sure there are other TV medical dramas I've forgotten, so I'm wondering if there are any other fans out there who might like to chat about them -- especially those no longer on.

I'd forgotten all about ER. I used to watch it all the time, but I actually had to go back and google for pictures of the cast before it all started coming back to me.

"House", is a favourite; but also reruns of "St Elsewhere" is quite entertaining despite its age.

Ben Casey was my favorite unfortunately you can't watch it anymore anywhere as far as I know. Didn't care for Dr Kildare either. I enjoyed Marcus Welby with Robert Young even though there wasn't as much medical drama as the others. ER was a classic in its earlier years, went downhill towards the end. House was brilliant. NIP/Tuck was great. Nurse Jackie was good. Medic with Richard Boone was one of the first.
