My parents always made it a point to make sure I knew it was on, because I enjoyed it so much.

This made me cry in 1981 when I first saw it at age 12. Then it was played the day Jimmy Stewart died in 1997, and it made me cry all over again. Johnny Carson was also crying.
Jimmy Stewart reads a poem he wrote about his dog who died.
Jonathan Winters on Carson. You can find the clips on your own.
Marty the station engineer doing weather on Channel 8 Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. The first few times I saw him, I thought he was a comic. He just was a really sweet guy. I think there may be a clip of his last forecast around.
