NBC is promoting this heavily. It seems somewhat interesting, but I'm not sure it'll last. Once the riddle is solved, then what? I'll probably watch the Premiere and see how it goes.
It premiers Monday, September 21st at 10 ET/9 CT. It has Marianne Jean-Baptiste in it, whom I love! I haven't really heard of the other actors, though.
From the NBC website:
"A beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI, which begins to follow the road map on her body into a larger conspiracy of crime, while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity.
The cast includes Sullivan Stapleton ("300: Rise of an Empire," "Strike Back"), Jaimie Alexander ("Thor: The Dark World," "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."), Marianne Jean-Baptiste ("Broadchurch," "Without a Trace"), Rob Brown ("Treme"), Audrey Esparza ("Black Box"), Ukweli Roach ("The Royals") and Ashley Johnson ("Much Ado About Nothing").
Writer Martin Gero ("Bored to Death," "L.A. Complex") serves as executive producer along with Greg Berlanti ("Arrow," "The Mysteries of Laura," "The Flash"), Sarah Schechter ("The Mysteries of Laura," "The Flash"), Mark Pellington ("Cold Case") and Marcos Siega ("The Following"). Pellington directed the pilot episode.
Blindspot is a production of Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions"
I've watched the trailers and it looks like The Blacklist with a hot chick covered in tatts instead of a former FBI agent turned international criminal. Not sure if Jaime can be a lead actress but she has to start somewhere. I'll check out an episode or 2 before passing judgment either way
Yeah, I just dont want this to devolve into "tattoo of the week"; i.e., look at particular tattoo on her body, solve mystery. Next week, look at different tattoo on her body, solve crime/mystery. Hmmm...we still cant solve this mystery tattoo on her ankle, which is part of a bigger tattoo conspiracy, so let's look at this tattoo by her neck: Solve crime.
I will check it out, but if it even hints at what I said above, I will be out faster than you can say, "tattoo on a hot chick".
A lot of "been there, done that." And done more creatively elsewhere.
Jaimie Alexander deserves better.
