Wacky and cute. Watched the first two episodes so far and enjoyed them.

Is on my "to do" list, anticipate watching soon-have read good things about it.
Sidenote: I read Ansari's recent book about dating in this age of online social media & mobile devices, it was nice blend of infomation & entertainment.

I think I must really be an old fart as I tried to watch it and found it incredibly boring. I could not even get through the first episode ... stories about having sex with someone you just met make me gag. (Yeah, I know it happens, but it is just, well, gross to me. Never understood the appeal, even in my teens and 20s.)

I would not have liked those characters even when I was their age. They seem stupid and shallow to me.

I agree somewhat. I have never come close to the apparent lifestyle of the characters in the show. But I don't think it is overdone and I still like it (and will probably continue watching). Similar shows I did not continue watching (for much the same reasons you state above) were Girls and Silicon Valley......

Listened to the 3/4 hr. long NPR/Fresh Air interview with co-creators Alan Yang & Aziz Ansari.
Then I went & watched first couple episodes.
It's not a laugh-out-loud kind of show, which is okay with me-seems more subtle & thoughtful.
Neat that Ansari has his actual parents playing his parents in the show, which he explained about in the radio interview.

I heard the Fresh Air interview too, and made a point to watch it over the weekend. Binge-watched the entire first season, and enjoyed it.

I absolutely love the fact that his dad used most of his vacation time to take on the role of Aziz's dad in the series. He and Aziz's mom were hilariously awesome!

It was also cute that he said he did it to spend more time with Aziz.

I've liked some episodes more than others. But, all-in-all I am enjoying the series. I also like the half hour format for this kind of show.

Can't get past his nasally voice it bugs me in his standup stuff as well. I thumbs downed it after episode 3 was hoping I would like it better.
