It was a late-80s TV series starring Ken Wahl as Vinny Terranova, a man who would infiltrate and bring down criminal organizations. It had some bizarre violence and memorable guest stars like Ray Sharkey, Fred Thompson, and Jerry Lewis. I don't think it ever had high ratings. I think it was ultimately done in by Wahl's reckless off-camera behavior.

Oh gosh, I do. I was recovering from some major surgery and watched it fanatically all one summer. Paradoxically I was crazy about Ray Sharkey, the bad guy, rather than Ken Wahl. I was so sad to read that he later died of drug-induced AIDs.

I wonder if Sharkey had the disease when he was filming the show.

Definitely a forerunner to the quirky cable and Internet series of today that have cult followings.

Loved the show, watched it on CBS back in the late 1980s.
Jonathan Banks ("Frank McPike") has gone on to do great things in Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul

What happened to Ken Wahl? The show was supposed to make him a star.
