Recorded off the Vice network. Just started watching this morning. He was from Iran and was a true wrestler in the classic greco/Roman style wrestling having trained under a champion wrestler in Iran. He also served for a while as a bodyguard to the Shah of Iran. In the early 70s he fled Iran out of fear of his life when his mentor, who was popular among the people of Iran but not with the Shah, died in what was called a suicide. No one believed it was a suicide. The people believed the Shah had him killed because he was becoming more popular with the people than the Shah. When he came to USA he became one of the Team USA Olympic wrestling coaches.

That's been on Amazon prime for a while. Or, was a while back. I watched it.. Pretty tragic figure with his daughter and all.

The guy does seem to be a nutjob, but.. I kinda wonder how much of it is kayfabe with him. He's old school. Kayfabe is still alive with him, other than when he gets arrested for smoking pot with Hacksaw Jim Duggan..
