Go check out the "City of Men," series if you liked the film "City of God." (movie, actors)

"City of Men," is sort of a spin-off series from the same people who did the movie, "City of God." It doesn't follow the story line as the movie and it is not as violent but it has a lot of the same actors and is a very high quality series. The entire series is out on dvd. I've only seen the first 7 eps but I've been very pleased and impressed so far. Definitely check it out if you haven't done so already.

Excellent series. They just made a follow up film to it as well that showed in some independent theatres across the country...excellent as well. I fell in love with the characters.
