I'm enjoying it so far. Its kind of like the Chronicles of Narnia mixed with Stranger Things.

Good description. I was thinking it was like: What if Stephen King had written Harry Potter?

I'm 3 episodes in. It's okay. Not bad. Not great.

I have seen first episode, agreed scenery is stunning, meant to be Massachusetts. Where in Nova Scotia is this filmed?

I've gotten through the first three episodes and like it.

However, anyone who thinks this is a "kid's movie" needs to watch the scene where the young man is murdered during sex.

Some of the exteriors and city shots are in Lunenberg on the south coast. I think the house itself and the surrounding grounds are in Ontario somewhere. Not sure though. Not sure where the school is either.

The Locke house was patterned after the Bluenose Lodge in Lunenberg. With CGI they could almost shoot any old home and then clean it up.

My wife is enjoying it more than I am. But I have read the books. She hasn't. I can't help but compare and find the TV show wanting.
