If you have Acorn and you like British (BBC) dramas about India, this might interest you.
Six part series taking place back in the 1950s. Great filming standards. The main theme is a young Hindu lady's quest to find "a suitable boy" to marry, and in the first couple of episodes that happens to a Muslim...although she moves on through at least one other suitor by the end of the second episode.
I LOVE this series. Such beautiful cinematography. After having watched the first three episodes, I got the book. I'll read anything, but I put this down after a couple of chapters, and realized that in this case, the show was better than the book. It must be the director. I still remember Mississippi Masala, her first film. I cannot wait for the last installment on Monday. Hubby fell right into it, is binge watching it now.
