Saw a movie on TV this weekend that I had DVR'd titled "The Rental." I won't tell you the plot of this thriller/killer type movie but I was thoroughly engaged in the movie until every character I could think of that I had seen in it was killed off in various ways and the credits were rolling and I was saying, "What the bleep happened? Who is the killer?"
I didn't know enough to bail on it earlier. I kept waiting for some big plot reveal that never happened. I felt stupid after it ended. Now I'm going to have to devote more time to research this movie for what I guess I should have known but missed.
So to whoever edited this movie, thanks a lot...NOT!
Edit:
Okay. It was deliberate.
"The Rental chooses to not reveal the killer's identity or motives for doing what they do. This, as Franco told Collider, as a conscious decision which speaks to the movie's larger themes around privacy and the exploration into the terrifying side of home rentals. We want to keep the identity of the killer unknown.Jul 25, 2020"
With a series, it can be as little 10 minutes. I found NBC's recent "Nurses" so ridiculous from the beginning, I just couldn't.
With other series, it can be several seasons. For example, I liked the characters and general story line, but I eventually became disgusted with references to harming small animals. (It was really strange, like one of the writers had an obsession or something.)
That show...My Name is Kat. There are all kinds of ways this show annoys me, and when I watched the first episode, I was put off by the laugh track, and the main character talking to the audience.
I thought that first episode would be the first and last time I'd watch it. But yet...I've watched 3 or 4 episodes now, and it's growing on me.
