Love this show. Started out iffy, but after a few episodes, the writers & cast learned what worked, and by season end, this was one of my favorites.
The old folks home didn't work, but Linda Lavin was great. So they dropped it, but moved her into Drew's home, so we could keep her. The van was dumb also, so it was mostly dropped.
The scenes in the dialysis center were really good. So instead of getting them every two or three weeks for a few seconds, we got them every episode, for a couple minutes. And the other kidney patients became significant supporting characters. They mostly dropped his wife & daughter, which was okay.
It takes time for good sitcoms to gel, and for writers to get a feel for the characters. I'm glad they were given a chance.

I thought the same, but a search comes back zilch.
It was renewed for another season! I think that Gina will date the one she is giving her kidney to! I do not like the cancer patient he is dating, I find her very mean!

Are we watching the same show? You mean the sweet, kind, delightful, compassionate, affectionate Adriana?
I really like it too. Thomas Middleditch is showing that he's not a one note actor after Silicon Valley - he can lead a regular network sitcom, too. And Annaleigh Ashford is super good.
I've been wondering how long they can maintain the storyline, though. A season leading up to the surgery, a season about recovery and a new life, then ? I don't really want them to take the sad option.
