These are two of the most beloved sitcoms of the 80s and 90s and their spin offs in American history.

I'm not sure if I can offer a criteria for judging your favorite, so I'm going to leave it very open.

Basically, of these four sitcoms, which is your favorite and why?

Just to be nitpicky, three of these are originals, and only one is a spinoff (Frasier, from Cheers). Seinfeld, Cheers, Friends are all originals (at least as this thread is concerned).

Doesn't affect the poll.

I hate these polls. I get different things from each show, some good, some bad and some great and some ho-hum. No comparison.

My vote is for Seinfeld, because it was so different, eschewing many sitcom conventions. The other three, while having various merits, still adhered to the standard sitcom template. Seinfeld did not, and was terrific for it.

seinfeld beats the crap out of friends. No feelings, no relationship bs, no drama, just clever setups and hilarious absurdity. Legendary show. I haven't really watched cheers or frasier, but I am fairly confident I would choose seinfeld over them.

Frasier is my favorite. I have found myself laughing out loud with some episodes. I loved the camaraderie between all the characters.

Friends may not even crack my top 10. Aside from the other 3 on the poll theres also All in the Family, WKRP, Barney Miller, BigBang and possibly a few others I would rank ahead of it.

All in the Family and Seinfeld are the two all time stand out to me.

FRASIER and SEINFELD still hold up. I far prefer FRASIER, but when SEINFELD was good, it was gold, Jerry! Gold!

CHEERS I enjoy more for the nostalgia factor than anything. But as a comedy, it is already feeling very dated.

FRIENDS ... meh.

Seinfeld. It would make you laugh and want to punch one of the characters at the same time.

Seinfeld, hands down, IMHO. So many one liners that people use currently. I watch some reruns at times and they're still funny/relevant.
