Amazon prime charges an extra fee for most good movies.

AMZN does run some special like 99 cents,so does GOOGLE.
But always do a search with Roku,I found house of Spirits free on foreign movie channel.
The Hawaiian and Sting on Tubi free.
Pretty Woman,Allied,Chinatown,Road to Perdition,Casino .
Sometimes it is cheaper tojust buy the dvd on Ebay.

I pay $60/mo for internet; $14 Netflix; $15 HBOMax. I was Amazon Prime years before their video streaming service started because of shopping so that isn't considered strictly streaming costs. But total monthly outlay is $99 with Amazon Prime. I rarely pay any extra money for Prime movies since they have a huge amount of films & TV shows for free, the same way I rarely pay extra money for caviar or champagne or quail eggs when I go grocery shopping, it simply isn't necessary but yes, it's available if one insists on very specific items that aren't part of regular inventory.

I also spent a one time cost for a TV antenna, an indoor one for me but it sounds like with a house on a hill & 3 tvs you would come out ahead by having a rooftop antenna installed. Get a pro to do it & attach to all 3 sets as a one time expense, it's worth it if you watch regular network tv.

Your tv sets need to be new enough to have HDMI inputs for the Roku or FireTV (Amazon) devices that feed your tv the programming. There is still one model of Roku that can feed a signal to older non-HDMI tvs. FireTV is only good if you have an Amazon account I feel, if not get a Roku.

Besides the pay services you can get free (with ads) decent programming from these "apps" on a Roku: Pluto TV, Tubi, IMDB TV, Roku TV, some news services. You might be able to get free (without ads) film/tv from library membership through Hoopla & Kanopy.

I do a mix of cable and streaming, but haven't cut the cable cord completely. I have 2 dumb TVs and an Amazon Fire stick; I subscribe to Amazon Prime Video, and alternate Hulu and Netflix and HBO and Showtime. I also watch a lot of content from Pluto, Tubi, and Crackle.

I'm sure you didn't mean this as a compliment, but I'll take it as one because I enjoy a good Pixar film as much as any kid - probably more, because I get the double entendres and puns.

As with any streaming service, movies cycle on and off. A quick Google or IMDb search can tell you which service is offering the film for free.

Amazon, as do others, have some movies controlled. Amazon tends to charge extra for the ones no one else can show.

I tried HBOMAX when it was offered at a discount,I watched all the old Japanese movies, after that i just cancelled it.
Sometimes I just go to Ebay or AMZN and buy the dvd.

The worst streaming service to me was Philo. It would have three 6 minute long commercials in each hour program. For a service that cost $20, that is just too many ads.
