Presumably based on a Navy base in Hawaii. 5-0 can take care of the civilians
Fine, but since they investigate off military installations there will be non-military places and people; there are also local workers on military installations.
I was pretty disappointed. It was very formulaic. Maybe they pushed too hard to squeeze in a plot along with introducing the characters, and the flaws and strengths each one had that will be a sure focus in future episodes, but other similar shows were more solid.
What did you think of the first episode? Hit or miss?
A big miss.

Exactly, they pushed way to hard on this show. It's like they are trying to have Hawaii Five-O 2.5.
This time Steve McGarrett has boobs.
I like it okay but I was telling my husband if we ever moved there which we wont , that I would need a local to acclimate to the language . I went to hawaii once and once was enough for me beautiful but costly as all get out .
It was OK. Writing was average, but it is, after all, a television show.
Acting was average for tv but I'll give the actors a couple of episodes to find their stride and develop their characters.
Hawaiian words were place names and food. I'm not sure how they were supposed to avoid using those.
I wonder if the writers were borrowed from Hawaii 5-0, who are not all that competent. I hope the stories get better. Right now it looks like they already ran out of ideas.
