I'm not a sports fan, but I will put the Olympics on from time to time, because the athletes are so amazing. Over the weekend, I was very impressed with the synchronized divers, and by the men working the pummel horse.

I watch from time to time to see if any USA athletes are in the running for a medal.

The wife recorded the BB game for me and I watched it. It was good to see the Americans get schooled on how to shoot the three. China really did hang tough early. They had no answer for the Redeem Team's speed though. It became a slam-dunk fest which I wasn't too keen on, but the crowd did show respect. There were some amazing plays! It was also good to see Yao Ming with some solid defense as well as a couple others and the respect he got. Also to China's credit; they were awesome on the boards. What the Redeem team can take away from their probably easiest game from here on out; work on the outside game, offensive and defensive boards. I'm no basketball expert here. I just love to watch it; but it seems like the competition will get a lot tougher.

What Phelps and his crew did to the French Mens Relay team and their big fat mouths! OMG!!!!!!!!! Did you see that? Try that again, French swim team.

Hoff!?! She was so close!!!!!! I thought she had it. It was by that same margin that she got beat by the Brits that the Men's relay team beat France. Just the way it goes.

Volleyball. In the gym or in the sand; I'm all about that sport! Love to watch it. Used to love to play it. Playing doubles in the sand is so hard. Well, look at what kind of shape they're in. They serve to May instead of Kerri Walsh! How's that workin' for ya? May maybe the shorter of the two, but did you see her kills? Just sick!

Go USA!

What ever happen to the whole olympic melody that they use to play? They only play part of that. Any baby bomers who use to watch the olympics knows what I am talking about. That music really would get my adrenalene going.

Are you talking about the Bugler's Dream or the one that John Williams wrote for the LA Olympics in '84 that you'll also often hear?

This has both: Olympic symbols - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't care for the Olympics but my DW is TIVO'ing every minute and playing it whenever she has the chance. I'll watch if I'm in the room, but that's about it.

(Well, with one exception. When the announcers were saying the French were trashtalking Phelps and our swim team , I had to watch and root for the guys! )
